Mailbind vs Missive
Both put several mailboxes in one place for a team. They disagree about what the product is for: Missive builds a collaboration tool around email, Mailbind builds an email client that happens to work for a team.
What each one is
Missive is a shared inbox and chat application. Its own pricing page describes its plans as being for “teams with simple needs”, “workflow needs” and “advanced needs”, and the features it lists are team spaces and inboxes, conversations and tasks, rules and automations, analytics, and an API. Alongside email it handles SMS and social accounts.
Mailbind is a multi-account email client. The feature it is built around is that a reply leaves from the mailbox that received the message, and the team features — shared inboxes, assignment, roles, internal notes — sit on top of that rather than being the point. There is no chat, no SMS and no social inbox.
What each one costs, as published

Missive is a trademark of its owner. Mailbind is not affiliated with it, and the figures above are quoted from its own published pages on the date given at the foot of this page — check them before you decide, because prices change.
The difference that matters for the bill
Missive is priced per user on every plan, and its own table caps Starter at 5 users and Productive at 50. Mailbind’s Pro plan is flat: one person with twelve mailboxes pays €12 a month, and the per-member price only appears on Team, where it is €14 a month per member.
So the arithmetic depends on which way your problem grows. If you are one person with many addresses, Mailbind is cheaper by a wide margin and the gap does not move. If you are eight people around one queue who also want internal chat and SMS in the same window, Missive is doing more work for the money.
- Missive counts people. Mailbind counts people only on Team.
- Mailbind carries no VAT, being sold under the French VAT franchise (art. 293 B du CGI); Missive publishes prices in dollars.
- Mailbind’s Free plan takes two mailboxes with no time limit; Missive’s own FAQ describes a 30-day trial of the Productive plan.
Where Mailbind is different
- The sender follows the message: a reply goes out from the address that received it, through that account’s own SMTP server.
- Three interface languages — English, French and Arabic — with a fully mirrored right-to-left layout.
- AI that summarises the message you open and drafts a reply in the sender’s language, with an off switch per mailbox.
- A web app that installs as a PWA, works offline for recent mail and queues what you write in an outbox.
- Published in the European Union by a one-person company, with the data processing agreement and sub-processor list on the site.
When to pick Missive instead
Choose Missive if the thing you are buying is collaboration rather than mail. Its own site puts team chat, tasks, SMS and social channels in the same product, lists rules and automations and analytics on its paid plans, and names SOC 2 Type II compliance — which is the sort of thing a procurement department asks for and a sole trader cannot offer.
It is also the better fit if your team is large enough that per-user pricing stops being the deciding factor, or if you want one window for every channel a customer might use. Mailbind is email, deliberately.
What they agree about
- Both connect to the mailboxes you already own rather than replacing your provider.
- Both show several accounts in one list and search across them.
- Both let a team share an address and see who is handling a conversation.
- Both are read in a browser as well as on a desktop.
Common questions
Is Mailbind cheaper than Missive?
For one person with several mailboxes, yes and by a lot: €12 a month flat against $14 per user a month on Missive's entry plan. For a large team wanting chat and SMS in the same product, the comparison stops being about price.
Does Mailbind do team chat like Missive?
No. Mailbind has internal notes on a conversation and assignment, but no chat, no SMS and no social inbox. If those are what you are buying, Missive is the right product.
Can I try Mailbind before leaving Missive?
Yes, and you should: connect two mailboxes on the Free plan and run both for a week. Nothing is moved, because Mailbind reads your existing mailboxes over IMAP, so there is nothing to undo if you decide against it.
Will my mail be moved or re-hosted?
No. Mailbind connects to the mailboxes you already own and keeps a synchronised copy for search and offline reading. Your provider stays the authority, and disconnecting deletes the copy.
